Plasma Pen

  • The Plasma Pen (also known as Fibroblast therapy) is the "big guns" of non-surgical skin tightening. While the Ultraformer MPT uses ultrasound to lift from the inside, the Plasma Pen uses plasma energy to shrink and resurface the skin from the outside.

It is famous for being one of the only non-invasive treatments that can effectively treat "hooded" eyelids without surgery (Blepharoplasty).

  • The Plasma Pen doesn't actually touch your skin. It uses a high-frequency electric current to create a small arc of plasma gas between the pen tip and your skin.

    • Sublimation: The plasma arc instantly turns the surface skin from a solid to a gas (sublimation). This creates a tiny, controlled "dot" of superficial trauma.

    • Instant Contraction: The heat from that arc causes the skin fibers to pull together immediately. This is why you can actually watch the skin tighten during the procedure.

    • Thermal Disruption: Below the surface, the heat stimulates fibroblasts—the cells responsible for making collagen. This triggers a massive regenerative surge that continues for months.

    • Carbon Crusts: The "dots" left behind are tiny carbon crusts (scabs) that act as a natural biological dressing while the new skin forms underneath.

    • During: You will definitely need a strong topical numbing cream. You’ll feel a sharp "snap" and smell a slight singeing scent (which is just the skin sublimating).

    • After: This is not a "lunchtime" facial. You will have a grid of tiny brown dots on the treated area. Swelling—especially around the eyes—is significant for the first 48–72 hours.

    • The Healing: The tiny "crusts" will fall off naturally in about 5 to 10 days. You must never pick them, or you risk scarring or pigmentation.

    • Final Results: You’ll see a difference once the scabs fall off, but the full "shrinkage" and skin thickening peak at about 8–12 weeks.

    • Hooded Eyelids: Lifting the heavy skin above the eyes.

    • Crow’s Feet & Under-Eye Bags: Smoothing out the delicate eye area.

    • Acne Scarring: "Pitted" scars that need the skin to be resurfaced.

    • Loose Skin: Around the belly button (post-pregnancy) or the neck.

    ⚠️ A Critical Safety Note

Plasma Pen results are highly dependent on the Fitzpatrick Skin Type. Because it uses intense heat, it carries a high risk of PIH (Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation) for those with medium to dark skin tones. It is generally safest for lighter skin types (Fitzpatrick I-III).
