Facial Balancing
-
Facial Balancing (also known as Profile Balancing or Full Face Optimization) is the "Master Plan" of aesthetics. Instead of focusing on a single feature—like just the lips or just the cheeks—this approach looks at the mathematical ratios and harmony of your entire face.
-
Facial balancing uses a combination of Neurotoxins and Dermal Fillers to align the face across three planes:
The Profile (Side View): This is the most popular form of balancing. It ensures that the forehead, nose, lips, and chin all "project" in harmony. For example, if you have a strong nose but a weak chin, adding chin filler makes the nose look smaller and the profile more balanced.
The Vertical Thirds: The injector looks at the forehead (upper third), the nose/cheeks (middle third), and the chin/jaw (lower third). If one section is "shorter" than the others, filler is used to create symmetry.
The Horizontal Fifths: Ideally, your face should be five "eyes" wide. Balancing might involve adding volume to the outer cheeks to widen the mid-face or slimming the masseters with Botox to narrow the lower face.
-
Natural-Looking Results: Because the goal is proportion, you avoid the "uncanny valley" look. You don't look like you have "big lips"; you look like you have a perfectly balanced face.
The "Weight Loss" Illusion: By adding structure to the chin and jawline, the neck appears tighter and the face looks slimmer without actual weight loss.
Age Reversal: It addresses "facial sinking" by restoring volume to the temples and mid-face, which naturally lifts the lower face.
Customization: No two plans are the same. It is a bespoke blueprint designed specifically for your bone structure.
The "Holy Trinity" of Balancing
Most balancing sessions focus on these three areas:
The Chin: A recessed chin can make a normal nose look huge and a jawline look soft. 1-2ml of filler here can change the entire face.
The Lips: Ensuring the bottom lip is slightly fuller than the top and that they don't project further than the nose or chin.
The Cheeks: Adding lateral (outer) volume to create a "V-shape" and lift the nasolabial folds.
-
The Consultation: This is the most important part. Your injector will take photos from every angle (front, 45°, and 90°) and might use a ruler or digital mapping to show you where your proportions are "off."
The Treatment: It usually involves multiple "sticks" across different areas. Because it's a full-face approach, it often requires 3 to 5+ vials of filler, sometimes done over two separate sessions to let the swelling settle.
Duration: Since a mix of products is used, the results can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, with small "tweakments" every year to maintain the harmony.
-
"Weak" Chins: People who feel their jawline merges into their neck.
Prominent Noses: Those wanting to make their nose look smaller without surgery.
Asymmetry: People who feel one side of their face is "heavier" or "lower" than the other.
Wedding/Event Prep: For those who want to look "perfect" from every camera angle.
